Committees
The Division has several standing committees, made up of elected and volunteer members, that conduct the work of the division. To find out more about how to volunteer with the division, visit the Get Involved page.
Awards Committee
The Awards Committee coordinates and administers the Newman-Proshansky Career Achievement Award, the Early Career Achievement Award, and the Carol Saunders Travelship Award. The committee also manages the review and selection of Graduate Student Research Award and the Undergraduate Student Research Award.
Fellows Committee
The Fellows Committee receives all nominations for APA fellowship, collects and considers such supporting materials as are necessary, and makes recommends of nominees for fellow status in the society, in accordance with the bylaws of the society and of the APA.
Membership Committee
The Membership Committee is responsible for the development and implementation of programs and procedures to both recruit and retain membership in the society, and managing the listserv.
Communications Committee
The Communications Committee is responsible for delivering all the communications of the division to its membership, including the website, email, and social media presence of the division.
APA Convention Committee
The APA Convention Program Committee is responsible for making arrangement for the program and annual meeting of the society held during the annual convention of the APA. The committee is chaired by a member of the society appointed by the president. The committee organizes invited symposia and speakers, reviews submissions to the convention, and assists in planning for other society events associated with the convention.
Virtual Conference Program Committee
The Virtual Conference Program Committee is responsible for organizing SEPCP’s Annual Virtual Conference. The committee is chaired by a member of the society appointed by the president. The committee organizes invited symposia and speakers, reviews submissions to the conference, and assists in hosting the virtual meeting.
Student Committee
The Student Committee is elected by the society’s student membership. The Student Committee advocates on the behalf of students, representing their interests, supporting professional development opportunities, and promoting student participation in society activities.
