We are behavioral researchers and practitioners who conduct and apply research and advance theory to improve interactions between humans and our natural and built environments.

Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

Div. 34 (Society for Environmental, Population, and Conservation Psychology, or SEPCP) celebrates the strengths inherent in including a broad range of voices, experiences, and identities in our work. We are committed to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion among our community, and to identifying and addressing barriers to academic and professional success that exist for various groups. 

Broadly, SEPCP seeks to: (1) better represent a broad range of identities in our membership; (2) foster inclusion among our community; and (3) enhance equity for all members, including identifying and eliminating barriers that have hindered full participation from some individuals or groups. Our approach is guided by a framework (Figure 1) that highlights different stages (i.e., awareness, recruitment, engagement, and career growth) during which SEPCP already provides or could better provide support to its various populations.
