Division 34 Teaching Grant-in-Aid
This grant provides up to $500 to under-resourced instructors to develop teaching activities that advance educational outcomes related to environmental, population, or conservation psychology. Applicants must have obtained either a master's or doctoral-level degree.

APA Division 34 (Society for Environmental, Population, and Conservation Psychology) will award up to one $500 grant to support innovative teaching activities that advance educational outcomes related to environmental, population, or conservation psychology. The goal of the program is to support under-resourced educators who might not otherwise have access to teaching development resources. Grants may be used to create new assignments, acquire materials, develop educational resources, or cover travel expenses related to service-learning. Funds may not be used for applicant stipends/salary or for travel to conferences. No indirect costs will be granted to the awardee’s institution.

Novelty/creativity of proposed activity or resource
Potential to enhance student engagement
Ability to scale or use in a variety of settings
Clear pedagogical outcomes (e.g., develops critical-thinking/presentation/writing skills)
Demonstrated financial need (based on institutional resources)
Review Process
Applications that are incomplete or do not follow the instructions listed above will not be reviewed. Complete applications that comply with instructions will be reviewed by an SEPCP committee using a double-blind process. Reviewers will rate these applications on the evaluation criteria listed above.

The applicant must have obtained either a master's or doctoral-level degree.
The applicant must be a member of SEPCP (APA Division 34).

Leaders of the Division 34 Student Committee are eligible to apply, but current members of the Division 34 Executive committee are ineligible.
Grant funds can be used for teaching-related activities (e.g., materials, equipment, travel) at either the undergraduate or graduate level.
Applicants may submit only one Grants-in-Aid application (Research, Teaching, or Community Impact) per year. Applicants must demonstrate relative lack of opportunities for alternative sources of funding and support (e.g., internal funding mechanisms). In case of proposals of comparable quality, preference will be given to applications from scholars with fewer available resources.
SEPCP especially encourages applications for unique and timely teaching activities that involve underrepresented institutions, graduate students, and junior scholars.

The application should include:
Anonymized proposal (no more than one page, single-spaced, using 11-point font) including:
Proposal title
Abstract of 100 words or fewer
Description of the activity, assignment, or exercise to be developed, including its objectives; how it will advance high-quality innovative teaching; and what impact(s) it will have on its intended audience (For the sake of blind review, please leave identifying information out of your proposal. Proposals that contain identifying information will be returned without review.)
Anonymized budget. Please provide a detailed, anonymized budget justifying how funds will be used. Include any other funding sources you are applying for or have received. Applicants are encouraged to describe why SEPCP funding is critical to the proposed activity (e.g., because of limiting internal funding opportunities, restrictions on who may apply for such funding, etc.).
